We praise God for leading us to the beautiful mountains of historic Ashe County, North Carolina.

So many have asked, Why North Carolina?  We can thank our dear old friend, Les Brady, from Prairie Bible College days.  He called unexpectedly shortly before we retired to tell us about where he and his wife had just settled and loved very much.  Not only that, but a half acre near them with a beautiful view had just come on the market.  You have to come down and see it, they said.  We did!  View from the top of Mt. Jefferson.  Hwy 221 is running south to Boone.  We can almost see our house.

This part of the world is unbelievably beautiful.  Mountains.  The New River.  4 seasons.  Gentle, kind people.  Slower pace of life.  Slower way to talk.  The pace here is definitely different than Upstate NY.  We are both excited about living in this Northeast corner of NC - - so close to Virginia and Tennessee.  Just think, we can hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway which is only a few miles away!
