WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO...
January, 2013... Here we are
Austin's "The Oasis" which overlooks Lake Travis, which is
so low that there is hardly any water (a sad fact of Austin
February... We celebrated our 51st Anniversary! Our house hunting has begun in earnest. God led us to the perfect realtor, Pat! A friend/neighbor of Fred Parker's sister; and "Kyle", the most amazing mortgage broker!
March... Julian & Bonnie George, Christian recording artists from NY (now in Nashville) were here in area churches. Nice time with them. House hunt over! We praise God that in Austin's hot real estate market, we found one so quickly. Our move date - - May 1 to Round Rock, TX.
April... Trip back to NC with sister Judy to finalize some business. Snow in NC. Celebrated Dave's 76th birthday (that's old, but not looking it!).
May.... Sister Judy and Joan both on hand to help us move in. Furniture from NC delivered. And a brief, surprise visit from Pam and Fred (enroute from HI to NY via TX)
June... Getting settled in new house on the golf course. Last step, pictures on the wall. Now ready for Kyle's 26th b'day party. Lv for NY end of June. July... At the cottage in Rome, NY.
August... Phoenix's birthday trip to TX for 2 weeks. Exciting -- it was his first time on an airplane. Not going to be the last either! Trip already planned next Spring. And yes, it was hot!
Our dear Prairie Bible College friends, Glen & Beth from MI visited again at the Cottage.
Sept... Thanks to Stu, Brenda and Amber, our Moffitt Beach tradition lives on. And guess who's doing the cooking now?! Or should I say, guess who's "not doing the cooking now....and loving it"?!!
Mindy flew to Upstate NY to drive us back to Austin by way of Lincoln, IL & Little Rock, AR. She did not make it for the annual Moffitt Beach weekend.
Stu & Brenda at the cottage.... In Lincoln, IL, Mindy with her cousin, Tony.....Dave and I with his brother, Marshall.... Mindy with her Aunt Rosie (Dave's only sister)
Oct....Back into our routine of attending our three day/week respite programs and starting at a nearby gym. Nov.... It's Thanksgiving month and we are grateful for God's blessing our family! Mindy and Kyle worked all of Thx week and Sister Jo came for a few days. It was very low-key, but restful. What a contrast to the many years of hectic, exciting and memorable dinners and programs at the RM.
Dec... In TX we have experienced the extreme. . .hot/cold. Busy days. Quiet days. After not putting up a Christmas tree for nearly 10 years, we enjoyed decorating for the holy season of the year (no Santa's here!).
ANOTHER BLESSED YEAR HAS GONE. . . HAPPY 2014!
