Hi!  Glad you've come to visit us ...

Thanks for visiting our web site.  This is our way to help us keep in touch with you.  We will be updating our site with our happenings and some inspirational thoughts.   Since we retired from 30 years at the Rescue Mission in Utica, NY, we relocated to the mountains of North Carolina for 8 1/2 years. We now call ourselves "Texans" !!  As we explore the world, please keep in touch.  We'd love to hear from you!  Our new email address is:  jdsanders1962@aol.com.

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO...     Have you wondered where we've been?

It has been a long time since we've communicated on this web site.  We've celebrated another anniversary since we posted last .... Number 53 !

Sister Jo became very ill in May and  life was put on hold for several months.  She was in/out of hospital and rehabs in Laredo for two months.  Miraculously she was able to go back home and walk up her new ramp without assistance.  She's not 100% back to health, but almost.....

We left for the cottage in August and returned to Texas in October.  Since that time there just was NOT the motivation to update the web.

That 89 degree temp was in January.  That was a fluke.  We've had yo-yo temps all winter.  High and very low....well, low by our standards.

We're showing off our new expanded drive-way.  Now I'm not driving on the grass trying to maneuver around the other cars.  One big project down but more to come!

Big event ahead is our grandson, Phoenix, coming to visit over Easter vacation.  Third time to TX.  I think he kinda likes it here.

Looking ahead, we are planning to return to the cottage this summer and spend time with Scott and family.

Thankfully, having family to visit along the way helps make the long trip more enjoyable.  Also, all that great country music I've been able to download from our local library keeps us entertained for many hours.

INSPIRATIONAL THOUGHTS

God's cake....

Sometimes we wonder,
'What did I do to deserve this?' or
'Why did God have to do this to me
?'
Here is a wonderful explanation!

A daughter is telling her Mother how everything
is going wrong
, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend
broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.
Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and
asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the
Daughter says, 'Absolutely Mom, I love your cake.'

'Here, have some cooking oil,' her Mother offers.
'Yuck' says her daughter.
'How about a couple raw eggs?' 'Gross, Mom!'
'Would you like some flour then?
Or maybe baking soda?'
'Mom, those are all yucky!'
To which the mother replies :
'Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves.
But when they are put together in the
right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!'

God works the same way. Many times we wonder why
He would let us go through such
 bad and difficult
times. But God knows that when He puts these things
All in His order, they always work for good! We just
have to
trust Him and, eventually, they will all
make
something wonderful

God loves you so much.
He sends you flowers every spring and
A sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen.
He can live anywhere in the universe,
And He chose your
heart.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are
here we might as well dance!

I HOPE YOUR DAY IS A PIECE OF CAKE
